As the author of The Soulaan Guide, my mission is not just to recount history but to ignite a sense of self-motivation, confidence, and purpose in those who seek a deeper understanding of themselves. I (Maroc) am the 2nd Author in my family following the footsteps of my Uncle Derrick Wallace Sr. This book is more than an exploration of cultural identity, it is a guide to personal empowerment, resilience, and self-determination. I want autochthonous Black Americans to have a new sense of pride in being and building America. We are Soulaan.

This book is about taking back control of that narrative. Through an exploration of culture, resilience, and personal empowerment, I challenge readers to see themselves through a new lens — one that reflects strength, dignity, and self-respect.
