As the author of The Soulaan Guide, my mission is not just to recount history but to ignite a sense of self-motivation, confidence, and purpose in those who seek a deeper understanding of themselves. I (Maroc) am the 2nd Author in my family following the footsteps of my Uncle . This book is more than an exploration of cultural identity, it is a guide to personal empowerment, resilience, and self-determination. I want autochthonous Black Americans to have a new sense of pride in being and building America. We are Soulaan.

For those who have ever questioned their place in the world, struggled with self-doubt, or felt disconnected from their roots, The Soulaan Guide offers a new perspective ,  one that challenges old assumptions and encourages a stronger, more defined sense of self.

Too often, our identity is shaped by external forces — media narratives, history books written from someone else’s perspective, and social structures designed to keep us confined to a narrow definition of who we’re supposed to be.

This book is about taking back control of that narrative. Through an exploration of culture, resilience, and personal empowerment, I challenge readers to see themselves through a new lens — one that reflects strength, dignity, and self-respect.
